  • Your right to patient confidentiality will be respected
  • Patients will be able to receive information about their condition whenever possible
  • Doctors, nurses and staff will be encouraged to take part in further training
  • Patients with conditions which are considered urgent will be assessed the same day
  • Professional help and advice is given to treat and prevent illness

What We Expect From Our Patients

  • Patients should attend their appointments at the arranged time. When this is not possible they should inform the surgery as soon as possible
  • Each appointment is for one person only
  • Request for help with non-urgent problems should be made during surgery hours
  • Home visits are made at the discretion of the doctor. Most medical problems are dealt with more effectively in the setting of a well-equipped surgery
  • We expect patients to treat the doctors, nurses and staff with courtesy and respect

Confidentiality

We ask you for personal information so that you can receive appropriate care and treatment. This information is recorded on computer and we are registered under the Data Protection Act. The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disciplinary team it is sometimes necessary that medical information about you is shared between members of the team.

Complaints Procedure

We operate a practice complaints procedure as part of the NHS system for dealing with complaints. Our system meets with the national criteria.

We have an in-house complaints procedure, copies of which are on display in the waiting room.

We are also happy to accept and consider comments and suggestions from our patients.

Zero Tolerance

We remove from our practice list patients who are violent or aggressive towards our practice staff or other patients and also anyone who fails to attend pre-booked appointments.

We have a policy for removal of patients and a copy can be requested from reception.
